Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is an important cultural moment for us to connect with the centre’s Asian customers and celebrate diversity with our local community.

From 29 January – 10 February, we will be celebrating Lunar New Year by providing our customers with a unique experience, to ensure that they choose to visit Forest Hill Chase during this key period of celebration.

This campaign will have several elements which include the following:

  • In partnership with Chinese artist and Forest Hill Chase local, Chris Chun, a bespoke dragon illustration has been created that is unique to Forest Hill Chase. This illustration will be the key graphic in all our advertising and will be printed on a tote bag which customers receive when they spend $75 in centre at any store including supermarkets. This will encourage customers to do their fresh food shopping with us if they currently shop elsewhere. Customers will need to present their receipt/s at the Customer Service Desk during centre hours to qualify. There are one thousand bags available with a limit of one bag per customer per day. Randomly selected bags will include envelopes of $80 supermarket gift cards and retailer offers including Banh Mi and Bubble Tea vouchers amongst other offers.

  • Cherry Blossom Garden visual interactive display on the Level 3 Dining & Entertainment Precinct. Customers can write a wish and hang it on one of the cherry blossom trees. Customers can also use their phones to scan a QR code and watch the garden come to life with falling petals, relaxing music, and lighting effects. Customers will be encouraged to share their photo via an online form for the chance to win a framed dragon illustration by Chris Chun valued at $350.

  • In centre performance on Saturday 10 February from 10am – 11am. There will be lion dancing and roving Chinese dancing in-centre, to celebrate Lunar New Year and create a lovely atmosphere.

  • Chris Chun will curate a recipe to tie in the Fresh Food stores. This recipe will be shared on our owned channels (including Facebook, Instagram, and the Forest Hill Chase website) in the lead up to Lunar New Year.
